We spent a year working with the Angelino Heights Historical Preservation Committee securing approval to construct a master suite in the attic space of this 1902 Victorian home.
Central to the success of the project was how to incorporate a new stairway without impairing the first floor living space. The final design carves a small section from the existing entry, providing a visual focus and access to an extra bedroom and bathroom. For the finishes, we took our cues from the original architecture using antique brass fittings, marble and natural red oak flooring.
